The Cardiovascular Research Center (CIC) constitutes a unit of research created in 1976 to fulfill the needs of joining and coordinating efforts in order to perform studies on Physiology, Biophysics, Physiopathology and Cardiovascular Pathology, emphasizing on their ultrastructural, biochemical, pharmacological and mechanical aspects as well as epidemiological investigations.
